Health Training Center Policies:
Registration: Early registration is recommended to ensure your place in class. To register, complete the Registration Form in this flyer and mail it along with a check, money order or credit card information to our Cambridge Administrative Office. Keep a copy of your Registration Form. Until your Registration Form and down payment are received, you are not officially enrolled in the course(s) you have selected. All tuition payments should be received a minimum of one week (7 days) before each course's first session to ensure your space and to avoid a $20 late fee.
Attendance: Being on time and attending all classes is expected. Lateness and absences will affect your grade. Missing approximately 20% of a class is grounds for suspension.
Internships: For classes which require an unpaid experience in order to complete the requirements of the Certificate, you must successfully complete the course work, be current on tuition, and submit all required medical records. Internships need to be completed during daytime hours, during the week, Monday through Friday. Internships must be started within 1 year of completion of your first term.
Late Payments: Any student who fails to pay any amount due in accordance with their Enrollment Agreement will be considered in default, and is liable for suspension from class sessions until tuition payment is made.
Insurance: We provide liability insurance for appropriate courses and Internships. We do not provide or require you to have health insurance. If you are hurt, injured or infected as a result of being a student or intern, you or your health insurance provider will be responsible for all medical costs.
Office Hours and Appointments: Office hours at the Cambridge Administrative office are Monday-Thursday 9:00am to 5:30pm and Friday 9am to 5pm. Meetings are by appointment only at other campuses. Please call 888.868.2111 to arrange a convenient appointment.
Admissions/Pre-requisites for all courses: written proof of High School graduation, or GED, or CNA, or HHA, or MA, or LPN, or college credits or similar equivalent documentation. HTC offers 6 semesters; January, March May, July, September and November semesters. Speaking, understanding and reading English at the 10th grade level is required. Failure to meet this standard may hinder class success and may prohibit an Internship.
Pre-requisites for Phlebotomy and Clinical Medical Assisting Techniques courses: you must provide written documentation that: 1) within the past year you have had a physical exam and are in good health and have no transmittable diseases, 2) have had a negative TB test, 3) within five years have had a least 1 Hepatitis B shot, and 4) your MMR and Chicken Pox are current. After the first class, HTC is not responsible if medical tests do not meet medically accepted standards. Students are responsible to purchase navy blue scrubs for Phlebotomy and Clinical Medical Assisting Techniques-1 labs.
People with criminal records/drug records may have a problem getting an Internship/job.
Financial Aid is available to those who qualify. HTC School Payment Plans are available with no financing, no interest and no service charges and require a down payment at registration and 3 payments about a month apart (see page 2). Call our office for details.
